PetVivo Reports Improved Mobility in Rhesus Macaques Following Spryng Hydrogel Treatment

Quick Takeaways:

  • PetVivo Holdings released two research abstracts evaluating its Spryng with OsteoCushion Technology in rhesus macaques with naturally occurring osteoarthritis. The findings will be presented at three scientific conferences in 2026.
  • In a study of 18 macaques, preliminary analyses showed statistically significant walking-speed improvements at weeks 1, 2, and 3 after treatment, averaging 0.22 ± 0.11 m/s. Further mobility analyses are ongoing.
  • A second study in four macaques found hydrogel incorporation into synovial tissue by day 11, with minimal local inflammation and reduced material by day 54. Conducted with the University of Wisconsin–Madison, the research supports further investigation of Spryng for osteoarthritis.

Why It Matters?

PetVivo’s preliminary macaque studies add early evidence for Spryng’s potential in osteoarthritis management, combining mobility improvements with encouraging local tissue-response findings. The data could support further development of its injectable hydrogel technology for veterinary joint care, but the small study populations and ongoing analyses limit conclusions about efficacy, durability, and broader commercial adoption.
