dsm-firmenich Names Future Animal Health Businesses Noviwest and Panavora

Quick Takeaways:

  • dsm-firmenich has named Noviwest and Panavora as the two standalone companies emerging from the planned sale of its Animal Nutrition & Health business to CVC Capital Partners. CVC will acquire both, while dsm-firmenich retains a 20% stake in each.
  • Noviwest will focus on vitamins, carotenoids and aroma ingredients, leveraging its European manufacturing base to support supply security across food, feed, fragrance and pharmaceutical industries. Panavora will focus on animal nutrition, combining feed additives, premix distribution and digital solutions.
  • The companies will pursue distinct strategies and operate independently, while collaborating selectively where capabilities complement each other. Completion remains subject to regulatory approvals, employee consultation and other conditions. Until then, Animal Nutrition & Health remains part of dsm-firmenich.

Why It Matters?

The planned separation positions Noviwest and Panavora to pursue more focused strategies across specialty ingredients and animal nutrition, respectively. Panavora could strengthen its competitive position by integrating feed additives, premix distribution and digital solutions, while Noviwest focuses on ingredient supply security. CVC’s ownership and dsm-firmenich’s retained 20% stakes provide continuity, but regulatory approvals and post-separation execution will shape competitiveness.
