Quick Takeaways:

  • Nestlé is investing more than CHF 157 million to expand Purina’s manufacturing site in Rayong, Thailand, increasing production of pet food and treats for brands including Felix, Friskies, Pro Plan, and Purina One.
  • The expansion will support growing demand across Asia, Oceania and Africa, with production serving both local and international markets. It will also use a high proportion of locally sourced poultry, fish and vegetables.
  • The investment strengthens Nestlé’s global pet food manufacturing footprint amid rising pet ownership and demand for premium, functional and specialized nutrition, following major investments in Italy and the US.

Why It Matters?

Nestlé’s CHF 157 million expansion of Purina’s Rayong plant increases production capacity for key brands such as Felix, Friskies, Pro Plan and Purina One, helping the company meet rising demand for pet food and treats across Asia, Oceania and Africa. By using more locally sourced poultry, fish and vegetables, the site can improve supply reliability and cost efficiency for both domestic and export markets, while reinforcing Nestlé’s global pet‑food manufacturing network alongside recent large investments in Italy and the US.
